Analytics Engineer II
Job Description
Analytics Engineer II at Texas Roadhouse responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise analytics using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, enabling self-service insights from the Louisville Support Center with a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain domain-specific semantic models in Power BI and Fabric.
- Craft business metrics in DAX, including advanced measures and calculation groups.
- Apply dimensional modeling best practices to boost performance, usability, and consistency.
- Own data governance tasks such as row-level security, dataset certification, and access controls.
- Create and sustain high-impact Power BI reports and applications.
- Troubleshoot model and report issues related to performance, data refresh, and logic.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to shape analytics-ready data models.
- Monitor analytics asset performance, reliability, and usage.
- Participate in CI/CD workflows using Git and Power BI deployment pipelines.
- Enable self-service analytics through certified datasets and reusable assets.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate outcomes.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, with relevant experience substituting for the degree.
- 4–6 years of experience in Analytics Engineering, BI, or advanced Power BI roles.
- Required certifications: DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) and PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst).
- Proven ownership of production semantic models and governed metrics.
- Strong expertise in DAX, dimensional modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience delivering production-grade analytics solutions used by the business.
- Solid SQL and data modeling skills.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Fabric / Power BI ecosystem aligned to DP-600.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Fabric components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Direct Lake) preferred.
- Familiarity with product-oriented analytics teams is a plus.
- Experience with tools such as Tabular Editor is preferred.
