Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain dbt models across staging, intermediate, and production layers to establish a single source of truth for Capital KPIs, designed for machine readability.
  • Ensure data quality through dbt tests, source freshness checks, and thorough documentation so downstream users can trust the data.
  • Develop complex SQL transformations on large datasets, optimizing for cost and performance.
  • Translate business questions into clearly scoped analytics requirements, define metrics with Capital leadership, and keep definitions governed in the semantic layer.
  • Build and own the Omni BI semantic layer to enable self-serve analytics and dealer-facing embedded reporting.
  • Balance quick responses to ad hoc requests with scalable solutions, triaging what to answer once versus what to codify for self-service by stakeholders or AI tools.
  • Present data narratives clearly to non-technical stakeholders and iterate based on follow-up questions.
  • Lead Targeting initiatives by developing models and dashboards that identify high-propensity dealer and borrower segments for outbound sales.
  • Establish loan origination funnel visibility from application to funding, highlighting bottlenecks and conversion opportunities.
  • Provide analytical support for account management workflows, dealer servicing SLAs, and audit/compliance reporting.
  • Own analytical initiatives end-to-end, identifying stakeholders, defining scope and timelines, and delivering without close supervision.
  • Proactively surface opportunities and offer data-driven recommendations beyond the questions asked.
  • Navigate competing stakeholder priorities and propose win-win solutions when technical requirements conflict.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI.
  • Hands-on production experience with dbt, including model design, testing, documentation, and incremental deployment.
  • Expert-level SQL with proficiency in window functions, complex joins, and query optimization in BigQuery or a comparable cloud warehouse.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver major analytical initiatives independently from scoping to stakeholder presentation.
  • Experience with Git-based version control workflows.
  • Experience communicating analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and a collaborative, low-ego team player attitude.
  • Strong judgment on when to provide rapid answers versus building robust, reusable solutions.
