Application Engineer
Job Description
Aero-Mod, Inc. is looking for an Application Engineer to help shape wastewater treatment solutions from concept through commissioning in Manhattan, Kansas. The role centers on designing and optimizing treatment systems, executing process calculations and layouts, and providing technical support across proposals, fabrication, installation, and startup on site.
Responsibilities
- Design wastewater treatment configurations that integrate biological processes, physical and chemical treatment stages, clarification, filtration, and solids handling.
- Carry out process calculations, hydraulic analyses, mass balances, and equipment sizing for treatment applications.
- Produce system layouts, PFDs and P&IDs, equipment specifications, and supporting technical documentation.
- Execute treatability studies, bench-scale testing, and pilot system evaluations to optimize process performance.
- Assist proposal development by delivering technical content, preliminary designs, and cost estimates.
- Review customer specifications to identify necessary process changes or equipment configurations.
- Collaborate with project engineering teams during fabrication, installation, and commissioning as needed.
- Support engineering change management activities, including design updates, validation, documentation revisions, and implementation of approved changes.
- Provide technical expertise to internal teams, representatives, and customers regarding treatment technologies and system performance.
- Support troubleshooting and optimization for existing installations.
- Attend customer meetings, site visits, and deliver technical presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Biological, Environmental or related discipline).
- Experience in technical sales and design engineering roles.
- Strong background in prototyping, system design, process control, and engineering change management.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities.
