Overview
We are seeking a Director of Business Development for Construction Management Services West and Gas Engineering to drive the expansion of our Oil & Gas and Water Infrastructure practice across the Western United States, including California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, and neighboring markets. This role centers on building client relationships, pursuing new opportunities, and elevating E2’s market footprint while aligning client needs with our full range of capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic growth initiatives across the Western U.S. market and coordinate multi-disciplinary pursuits.
- Identify and pursue opportunities in engineering, program management, construction management, inspection, and field services; contribute to win strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with utilities, municipalities, operators, EPC firms, industrial clients, and strategic partners.
- Support proposal development, teaming strategies, presentations, and contract pursuits.
- Coordinate with engineering, project delivery, and field services teams to align offerings with client needs.
- Monitor upcoming capital programs, infrastructure investments, and regulatory-driven projects.
- Represent E2 at industry conferences, association events, and client meetings across the region.
- Expand E2’s presence in Oil & Gas, utility, water and wastewater, and industrial infrastructure markets.
- Maintain opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and CRM updates; support strategic partnerships and regional growth initiatives.
Requirements
- 12+ years of business development and client management experience within engineering, utilities, oil & gas, water, or infrastructure sectors.
- Existing relationships in utility, energy, water, municipal, or industrial markets are highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of engineering consulting, EPC delivery, utility capital programs, and infrastructure life cycles.
- A proven track record of meeting business development targets and expanding into new markets.
- Established ability to craft winning RFI/SS/RFQ/RFP responses.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Proven capability to work effectively in a fully remote setting, leading teams and projects across dispersed locations.
- Experience supporting pursuits involving pipelines, compressor stations, facilities, transmission/distribution systems, treatment plants, or industrial infrastructure is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment and Travel
The role is based in a professional office setting with standard equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided as needed. Expect to sit or stand for up to eight hours daily and travel across the Western U.S. up to 100 percent to engage clients and partners.

Wage Data
The advertised pay range is USD 160,000 to 180,000 per year. Starting pay will reflect skills, education, experience, and the work environment.
