Job Description
Torch Technologies in Kettering, Ohio is seeking a Senior Application Software Engineer to support the FLITES/EPASS GB contract. The role emphasizes hands-on design, development, testing, and deployment of applications software, coupled with Agile leadership, architecture design, and a strong focus on security within mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Advise and support design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and ongoing support of new or existing applications software.
- Follow or lead Agile methodologies such as scrum, Kanban, XP, or hybrids to drive delivery.
- Analyze and refine system requirements and translate them into application prototypes.
- Plan and design systems architecture and determine applications architecture and output media/formats; design user and system interfaces.
- Collaborate with customers to test applications and ensure software quality and functionality.
- Integrate hardware and software components and write, review, and maintain program documentation.
- Evaluate new application software technologies such as containerization and Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, microservices, standard APIs, CI/CD, and maximize automation of the SDLC.
- Ensure rigorous application of information security and cybersecurity policies to software delivery.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen.
- Advanced Degree (MA/MS) or Doctorate from an ABET accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 10 years of experience, with 5 years in the DoW; OR BA/BS from an ABET accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline with 5 years in the DoW; OR 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 years in the DoW.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge and recognized ability to be considered an expert in the technical/professional field and to oversee junior and mid-level personnel.
- Possesses comprehensive understanding of standards, procedures and practices within the program and interface domains (Program Office, Enterprise and Staff Level Support).
- Must have and maintain a T3/Secret security clearance.
