Automation Engineer
Job Description
Automation Engineer opportunity in Yankton, SD (onsite) with Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC, focusing on designing and implementing industrial control systems and supporting customer automation projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Program and optimize industrial robots and PLCs to support production needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related equipment issues alongside maintenance staff.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime.
- Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, engineering) to implement automation upgrades and maintenance programs.
- Support installation and commissioning of new automated systems.
- Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related. (required)
- 3+ years of hands on experience with PLC programming (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable systems) (required)
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or mechanical engineering. (required)
