Civil Design Engineer
Job Description
Annandale, VA onsite role focused on civil site design for land development and utility and roadway related deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and manage civil infrastructure projects that support community development and environmental sustainability
- Design, prepare, and process land development applications
- Contribute to the preparation of full sets of construction plans
- Draft CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans
- Perform site layout and utility design
- Complete horizontal and vertical design of roadways
- Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
- Generate hydrologic computations for stormwater management (SWM) facilities
- Perform pavement design computations
- Conduct site distance analysis
- Prepare site work quantity take-offs
- Coordinate with internal and external engineers, architects, and related stakeholders
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- EIT certificate (preferred)
- Experience designing, preparing, and processing land development applications
- Experience with Northern Virginia jurisdictions
- Experience with Commercial, Residential, and Mixed-use projects
- Ability to make well-informed design decisions based on civil engineering knowledge and locality requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented approach to support excellence across project deliverables submitted to Project Managers

Location and Pay
- Location: Annandale, VA (onsite, in person)
- Salary: USD 100,000 - 110,000 per year
Role Focus (Civil Site Design)
- Exclusive focus on civil site design (grading, erosion and sediment control, profiles, utilities)
- Not focused on construction activities or other forms of civil engineering
- Not seeking candidates primarily doing quantity take-offs, managing budgets, or similar responsibilities
