Responsibilities

  • Develop plan and profile drawings using Bentley tools, including Open Roads Designer
  • Perform utility conflict analysis for major transportation projects and ensure all conflicts are resolved
  • Propose utility alignments to mitigate conflicts and collaborate across design disciplines to minimize relocations
  • Coordinate to resolve utility conflicts in constrained ROW and utility corridors
  • Conduct QA/QC of work before submission to a Professional Engineer
  • Assist with peer reviews of colleagues’ work prior to PE review
  • Assist with creating training material and process documentation
  • Review SUE information and As-Builts to assess conflicts with proposed roadway design
  • Review roadway design files in PDF and CAD to identify design changes and present impacts to the Engineer
  • Conduct site investigations to confirm existing utilities facilities and tie-in locations
  • Provide input on constructibility challenges related to utility relocations
  • Utilize Google Earth, Microsoft products, and related software in daily work
  • Meet strict deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and work with minimal direction
  • Apply strong civil engineering principles with problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Communicate effectively and work well in teams or independently
  • Adapt to changing tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • Engineering In Training (EIT)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in civil design in the transportation sector
  • Proficiency with MicroStation V8i (required)
  • Open Roads experience and other applicable software is a plus

Salary: USD 52,000 to 85,000 per year. In addition, bonus opportunities, overtime pay, and a yearly bonus are part of the compensation package.
