Position Overview
We are seeking a Transportation/Roadway Project Engineer with four or more years of experience to join our Design team. The role focuses on planning, administering, and designing transportation projects, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary design team on larger initiatives to meet client objectives and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Plan, administer, and design small-to-medium transportation related projects, and contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary design team on large sized projects.
- Perform roadway design and traffic analysis tasks as a member of the design team for local, arterial, and interstate roadways.
- Establish and maintain client relationships, ensuring both client satisfaction and objectives are met.
- Assist in marketing, writing proposals, winning work, and maintaining and developing key client relationships.
- Participate in client-rich professional organizations and technical societies.
- Train and mentor young professionals and direct CADD staff in plan production.
- Perform Traffic Studies and preparing Traffic Reports.
- Perform Barrier Warrant Analysis.
Qualifications
- BSCE required; IL PE preferred.
- 4 years engineering experience with a background in transportation; including a combination of roadway and traffic analysis.
- Traffic signal and/or roundabout design experience a plus.
- Solid understanding of transportation design and construction standards. Additional experience related to traffic engineering a plus.
- Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
- Demonstrated skills developing relationships with municipal, county, and state agencies in support of transportation projects.
- Experience with MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk Civil3D.
- Microsoft Office software applications experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management.
- Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) is required.
