Cloud Security Engineer

Concordant, LLC offers a hybrid work opportunity in Columbia, South Carolina for a Cloud Security Engineer to support a statewide cloud initiative. You will contribute to deploying and managing shared IT cloud services, shaping statewide cloud strategy, and enabling cloud adoption with agencies through a managed cloud broker model. This 12 month contract includes potential extension and a competitive annual salary up to $144,384. The role blends onsite collaboration and remote work to support a statewide program.

Responsibilities

• Handle system administration, automation, and development work for the Cloud Management Platform (CMP).
• Collaborate with technology operations and customer teams to facilitate migrations to cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure continuity of shared services across AWS and Azure environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems.
• Ten or more years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or architecture.
• Eight or more years of technical architecture experience and hands-on engineering.
• Five to seven years of AWS experience, including IAM, Organizations, networking architectures, and cost management controls.
• Three to five years of Azure experience, including RBAC, Azure AD, networking architectures, and cost management controls.
• Three to seven years of enterprise cloud architecture or governance experience.
• Three to five years of Terraform and infrastructure as code experience.
• Three to five years of cloud migrations and platform operations experience.
• Three or more years of technical leadership and knowledge transfer experience.
• Public cloud infrastructure expertise.

Position summary

This role supports day-to-day operations and migrations to AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure as the organization advances toward a managed cloud broker model.

Location

Hybrid remote in Columbia, SC 29201. The consultant will be onsite for the first week to acclimate, then approximately 3 days per month onsite with the remainder remote. Onsite cadence is scheduled with the manager after start. Ability to commute to Columbia, SC 29201 is required.

Duration

12 months, with a potential extension.
