Cloud Security Engineer

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen and evolve security across AWS and Azure. In this hands-on, fast-paced enterprise role, you will work with infrastructure and security teams to design secure cloud architecture, tighten identity and access controls, and improve monitoring, alerting, and response as security maturity grows.

This position is based in Franklin, TN with a hybrid work model, and requires 5+ years of relevant cloud security experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architecture across AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Secure cloud-native applications, infrastructure, data, and identity services while aligning to enterprise standards.
• Implement and manage IAM controls including least privilege, RBAC/ABAC, and MFA, and integrate with enterprise identity providers.
• Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities using cloud-native tools and SIEM integrations.
• Partner with internal teams to communicate security changes, provide guidance, and assist with training and mentoring as security maturity grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud security experience securing AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud security architecture (not limited to supporting existing builds).
• Strong IAM expertise, such as AWS IAM/Organizations/Identity Center and/or Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access and PIM, with least-privilege access controls.
• Experience implementing cloud security services, logging/monitoring, and threat detection, including tools such as Security Hub/GuardDuty/Config/Inspector or Defender for Cloud/Sentinel, and integrating with SIEM tools.
• Strong communication skills with cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to train and mentor teams; cloud infrastructure/security networking knowledge is a plus.
