CNC Nesting Engineer Technician

Cedar Rapids, IA on-site CNC Nesting Engineer Technician role focused on programming CNC equipment and coordinating with engineering, sales, and clients on current and future projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for equipment used in manufacturing
• Design nesting layouts for burn table and beam line
• Coordinate with engineers, sales staff, and clients on current and upcoming projects
• Apply knowledge of CNC machine centers, CNC burn table (Pronest a plus), CNC brake press, beam line, and water jet
• Draft with SolidWorks or equivalent
• Utilize ERP/MRP software, Global Shop a plus
• Create Bills of Materials and Routers in Global Shop
• Support structural and plate steel fabrication processes
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with production, sales, service and purchasing teams on a hands-on basis

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Associate degree in drafting or equivalent experience
• Ability to communicate with personalities of all types
• Knowledge of CNC machine centers, CNC burn table (Pronest a plus), CNC brake press, beam line, and water jet
• SolidWorks drafting experience or equivalent
• ERP/MRP software knowledge (Global Shop is a plus)
• Structural and plate steel fabrication knowledge
• Creating Bills of Materials and Routers in Global Shop
