Job Description

Onsite Control Systems Project Engineer I role in Nevada, focused on leading control system projects and delivering engineering support as a full-time, direct-hire position.

Responsibilities

  • Operate with full field independence as the primary onsite resource for assigned tasks.
  • Lead and support start-up and commissioning activities for control systems.
  • Steer and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to verify system readiness.
  • Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams; provide field feedback relative to drawings.
  • Apply and troubleshoot HMI and PLC applications in project work.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Review technical documents produced by others for accuracy, clarity, and presentation.
  • Contribute to complex control system design with strong instrumentation knowledge.
  • Specify instrumentation for intricate control systems.
  • Showcase knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and computer system design as it relates to control system integration.
  • Communicate effectively, positively, and proactively with customers.
  • Follow customer site standards and procedures; conduct all activities professionally.
  • Provide excellent customer care and support, remaining patient, attentive, and responsive.
  • Follow up and fulfill commitments to customers; maintain accountability.
  • Understand customer needs and actively pursue service opportunities to address them.
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Understand the scope of work; identify issues beyond scope and escalate to the project lead when needed.
  • Lead individual tasks or small to mid-sized projects from start to finish.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact on projects under their leadership.
  • Communicate with customers and trade partners in a constructive and proactive manner.
  • Anticipate potential project risks and plan effective solutions in advance.
  • Identify opportunities for new work with customers and contractors.
  • Provide detailed feedback on project assignments and outcomes.
  • Understand project contracts and specifications; manage risks accordingly.
  • Where applicable, supervise junior staff on site regarding construction, operations, or maintenance tasks.

Travel

  • Overnight travel may be required up to 50 percent.

On Call

  • On call rotation participation may be required based on location and client needs.
