Job Description

Hyper Solutions Inc builds control systems that help power data center infrastructure products operate reliably and safely. In this on-site role in Richmond, VA, you will design, validate, and test end-to-end control solutions for hardware that ships with fully integrated sensing, control, and operator interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate control systems for power infrastructure products including PDUs, RPPs, and switchboards
  • Develop and configure HMI applications with screen design, alarm management, trending, and operator workflows
  • Install, configure, and test power metering components including power meters, gateways, and controllers to ensure correct communication and performance
  • Select, mount, and wire sensors such as current transformers, voltage transducers, temperature probes, and environmental sensors
  • Build complete system-level configurations by integrating sensors, controllers, and HMIs into functional products
  • Build and test hardware and software prototypes to support new product development and customer-specific solutions
  • Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to confirm performance
  • Create and maintain control system documentation including wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and test procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support manufacturability and field readiness
  • Follow electrical safety requirements during lab and test activities, including LOTO procedures and arc flash safety standards
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for control system issues observed in the field
  • Contribute to internal standards, lab infrastructure, and testing methodologies
  • Participate in safety reviews to identify hazards in product designs and test setups
  • Partner with engineering and service teams to improve reliability and performance
  • Refine sensor strategies and control system requirements using real-world usage feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial control systems, including controllers and HMIs
  • Experience developing HMI applications, including screen design, scripting, and alarm configuration
  • Working knowledge of industrial protocols: Modbus, BACnet, OPC-UA, and SNMP
  • Experience configuring and commissioning power metering and monitoring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring documentation
  • Experience executing system-level and component-level testing, including FAT and SAT
  • Strong electrical safety understanding, including LOTO and NFPA 70E

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with data center power infrastructure such as PDUs, UPS systems, or switchgear
  • Familiarity with industrial gateway platforms such as Red Lion, Kepware, or Ignition
  • Exposure to condition-based monitoring or predictive maintenance systems
  • Understanding of OT/ICS security principles or IEC 62443 frameworks
  • Experience building and testing physical systems in lab environments

Compensation and Location

Location: On-site in Richmond, VA

Salary: USD 105,000 - 135,000 per year. Actual salary varies based on experience, technical expertise, and location.

This position is eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation based on individual and company performance.
