Controls/PLC Engineer II
Job Description
This role owns and manages the control system for a hypersonic scramjet test facility, including PLCs, data acquisition, sensors, and collaboration with propulsion and mechanical engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with test operators to design new features for existing test cell control systems, improving usability, safety, and reliability
- Own the control system design for new test cells to support emerging technologies
- Work with propulsion and mechanical engineers to select sensors and integrate them into the facility
- Design and fabricate industrial control panels and IO systems
- Calibrate and maintain sensors, actuators, and control systems for hypersonic engine test facilities
- Implement control system features, sensors, and sequencing in collaboration with test engineers to broaden engine test capabilities
- Manage facility test data databases and develop PLC-to-database and database-to-analysis pipelines
- Travel up to 10 percent to support remote test activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the company
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time experience
- Structured text PLC experience with Beckhoff, B&R, or similar platforms
- Experience with time-series databases (Influx/SCADA) and SQL-based databases
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
- Comfort organizing feature requests in collaboration with the test engineering team

Pay
USD 110,000.00 - 125,000.00 per year
