This onsite role in Sanford, North Carolina offers the opportunity to design, develop, and enhance indoor air quality products while collaborating closely with research and development and manufacturing teams. You will contribute to DFMA, process improvements, and vendor qualification, helping to bring humidification, dehumidification, ventilation, and IAQ solutions to market. You will play a hands-on part in shaping brand product lines, supporting sales, marketing, and customer engagement through manuals, literature, demonstrations, and training.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test all aspects of indoor air quality products as defined by sales, marketing, and research and development teams.
- Work across major product categories including humidification, dehumidification, building ventilation, commercial and industrial air cleaners, and residential IAQ products.
- Participate in cross-functional new product development teams to meet schedule, cost, and performance goals.
- Review product development requirement specifications including product management and customer requirements.
- Submit to the accounting department sufficient information for preliminary costing.
- Initiate and supervise any required prototype and test model development.
- Schedule and lead pre-production drawing review meetings with product management, sales, manufacturing, quality, and senior management.
- Coordinate with procurement to determine sources for outside services and purchased parts.
- Authorize material substitutions and deviations from standard practice where permissible.
- Provide resources and information to sales, advertising, and marketing for manuals and sales literature.
- Participate in brand engineering support and training for application engineers, sales, and marketing, including support for customer visits, rep training, lab demos, and trade shows.
- Manage agency listings and product certification for assigned products.
- Follow and comply with company work and safety rules and policies.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on engineering experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; experience with 3D modeling and sheet metal design is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Work Environment
Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle or feel objects, with reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasional climbing or balancing and exposure to outside weather conditions and vibration may occur. The role involves regular lifting and moving of items up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 25 pounds and, at times, up to 75 pounds.
