Responsibilities

• Contribute as an individual contributor or as part of a team to deliver on schedule and meet project requirements
• Implement hardware and software designs in line with engineering principles, company standards, and contract obligations during installation
• Oversee electrical installation subcontractors to ensure compliance with design, schedule, and methods; when subcontracting is not viable, self-perform low voltage electrical work including panel installation, controller mounting and wiring, and communication wire pulling
• Support or lead validation, commissioning, and on site implementation of Building Automation Systems with Schneider Electric products or other brands
• Test and validate hardware and software for correct operation in HVAC control, lighting, water, and related systems
• Ensure high quality graphical interfaces are installed for clients
• Analyze Building Automation Systems and recommend changes to improve functionality or energy efficiency and support energy conservation measures
• Mark up drawings, specifications, and reports for records using digital tools such as Visio, Excel, and Word
• Handle materials for Building Automation System implementation
• Confirm conformance to industry design standards and local codes
• Provide input to other engineers during initial and subsequent installation phases
• Participate in strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement
• Deliver solutions with first time quality while maintaining high client satisfaction
• Uphold safety standards and maintain accountability for company assets
• Serve as the technical resource for Building Automation Systems with the Construction team
• Demonstrate teamwork and flexibility to meet business needs

Requirements

• Two-year degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience preferred
• Experience with low voltage electrical installation for Building Automation Systems or equivalent
• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying demands, including self-performed and third-party execution, and know when to seek additional expertise
• Ability to lead knowledge sharing on Automation Systems and HVAC
• Strong technical competency with construction and automation management best practices and independent responsibility in automation
• Natural problem solver and active learner
• Strong written and verbal communication plus project management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, and UL codes and standards
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks building automation protocols
• Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and control systems
• Schneider Electric Building Automation System platforms (Vista, Continuum, I/Net, StruxureWare, EcoStruxure, Invensys) highly preferred
• Experience with other building automation vendors (Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Allerton, Automated Logic, etc.) highly preferred
• Ability to read HVAC and electrical drawings and other scope documents
• IT knowledge and control system interworking is highly preferred (IP functionality, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, topology)
• Valid driver’s license with no major or frequent violations
• Proficient in Procore and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, MS Project)
• Strong basic math skills
• Ability to follow plans and specifications in construction
• Commitment to customer service and team success
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and overcome challenges
• Willingness to travel up to 70 percent to project sites
