Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Description
The Cybersecurity Engineer role at Basler Electric Company centers on policy development, incident response, patch management, and end-user support. The position involves monitoring MDR, administering Active Directory and Windows Servers, and collaborating with IT teams to enhance the organization’s security posture.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of IT and the Systems Administrator to develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Respond to cybersecurity questionnaires from clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Investigate and respond to malware events, including detection, analysis, and remediation.
- Oversee patch management software to ensure systems and applications remain current with security patches.
- Maintain operating system patch schedules and third-party software updates, including testing and deployment.
- Monitor and manage MDR operations and investigate antivirus and malware events.
- Administer various security software applications across the organization.
- Collaborate with IT teams to address vulnerabilities and strengthen the overall security posture.
- Ensure servers conform to system hardening practices across related information systems.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to verify compliance with established policies and standards.
- Stay informed about current cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continually improve security measures.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on cybersecurity best practices and policies.
- Provide Tier 1 end-user support.
- Use Microsoft Office products efficiently to support a range of tasks.
- Assist other department team members with their duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Professional security certifications such as CISSP and Security+ are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and other relevant security guidelines and frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of malware analysis and incident response procedures.
- Proficiency in managing patching software and understanding patch management best practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Servers, and SCCM.
- Ability to support end users at a Tier 1 level.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel as required for training, project tasks, or job-related needs.

Compensation
We anticipate filling the Cybersecurity Engineer position with an expected compensation range of $96,000 – $113,000 per year.

Pay range: $96,000.00 - $113,000.00 per year.
