Cybersecurity Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is recruiting a Cybersecurity Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models for security use cases. In this fully remote contract role, you will review AI-generated cybersecurity content for real-world accuracy and work through security-focused technical challenges that improve model performance. The position is paid hourly and completed on your own computer with a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world validity.
- Design and solve security-focused technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
- Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Deliver feedback that directly influences the next iteration of AI security model outputs.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
- Some coding experience is required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) and strong writing skills.
- Bachelorโs degree preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, for example OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.

Compensation and Payment
- Pay: USD $50 to $100 per hour
- Bonus potential: Higher bonus rates may be available for certain projects
