The Senior Civil Engineer role with the Seminole Tribe of Florida centers on guiding the design and planning of transportation facilities across tribal reservations. This position leads coordination efforts, ensures adherence to applicable standards and regulations, and develops cost estimates and schedules, with travel across multiple reservations required to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise the design and planning of transportation facilities and projects, applying fundamental Civil Engineering theories, principles, and methods.
- Ensure compliance with government standards and regulations for roadway design and construction, and propose changes to existing roadways to improve traffic flow and address safety concerns.
- Develop project cost estimates and coordinate scheduling for construction or repair of Tribal roadways.
- Supervise the work of Transportation Civil Engineers and coordinate and assign workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related specialty is required.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- A minimum of three (7) years of experience as Civil Engineer in transportation projects or related area is required.
- Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Civil Engineering and Transportation field is required.
- Knowledge of Microstation, GEOpak and/or Stormwater Management Design is highly desired.
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft, AutoCAD, Water and Sewer Modeling Software and ESRI (GIS) software packages.
- Must be able to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida facilities and to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
