Job Description
Peterson CAT invites you to join as a Data & Analytics Engineer in San Leandro, CA, onsite. You will help evolve the enterprise analytics platform through data engineering, analytics delivery, and reporting, with a focus on cloud data platforms, Power BI, and AI enabled workflows to improve speed, quality, and scale while preserving data accuracy and governance. The role offers a competitive salary of $105,000 to $125,000 per year, generous benefits, opportunities for advancement, and a total compensation package in addition to base pay.
This is an onsite role based in San Leandro, California and requires a Bachelor's Degree with at least three years of related experience. You will collaborate with business, finance, and IT teams to translate needs into trusted analytics solutions.

Responsibilities
- Ingest and steward data across Raw, Transformed, and Curated layers aligned to business and analytics requirements.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using cloud architectures such as Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric, while supporting existing SSIS workloads and Azure Data Factory when applicable.
- Design and build curated, analytics ready datasets using SQL based transformations.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and semantic models, mainly with Power BI.
- Leverage Python and AI driven workflows to accelerate data ingestion and schema discovery.
- Accelerate source-to-target mapping and transformation logic with Python and AI driven workflows.
- Speed ETL troubleshooting and optimization using Python and AI workflows.
- Streamline report and dashboard generation with Python and AI workflows.
- Enhance data validation, reconciliation, and impact analysis through Python and AI workflows.
- Uphold strong data quality, reconciliation, and documentation standards.
- Support data ingestion, modeling, and analytics enablement for finance and ERP platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics.
- Develop reusable data pipelines, transformation patterns, and data models to improve consistency and scalability.
- Contribute to standards, best practices, and frameworks within the evolving Data & Analytics Center of Excellence.
- Collaborate with business, finance, and IT teams to define requirements, validate outputs, and deliver trusted analytics solutions.
- Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; and a minimum of three years of directly related experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics, or an equivalent combination.
- On-site work with close collaboration with business, finance, and IT teams.
- Strong SQL and data warehousing experience, with hands-on work in modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric, including ETL/ELT ingestion and transformations.
- Experience with Python for data engineering, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Hands-on experience building production reports and dashboards, with Power BI required and other BI tools acceptable.
- Experience using Microsoft integration tools, including SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory.
- Experience supporting end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion through analytics and reporting.
