Job Description
CVS Health is seeking a Data Engineer for People Analytics to join the People Analytics Data Engineering team. In this onsite role based in Raleigh, North Carolina, you will build and operate data warehouse modeling, data pipelines, and analytics foundations that support People and Workforce analytics in cloud data platforms.
This position focuses on integrating HR data from multiple enterprise systems, ensuring reliable and governed data for analysis, and partnering with People Analytics and HR stakeholders to streamline data requests and support strategic decision-making.
Role Overview
- Own data warehouse modeling, data pipelines, and analytics enablement for People and Workforce analytics.
- Build and manage ETL and data workflow processes that integrate HR data from systems such as Workday, talent management, payroll, and other sources.
- Develop reproducible workflows to support efficient reporting in R, Python, and other analytics tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage robust data pipelines and ETL processes that integrate HR data from Workday and other data sources.
- Optimize data workflows to support data accuracy, quality, and availability for People Analytics and HR and business stakeholders.
- Oversee a team of data engineers, providing mentorship and guidance on best practices in data engineering, version control, and coding standards.
- Collaborate with People Analytics to structure data for analysis, develop data models, and create reproducible workflows for reporting.
- Ensure data governance and security protocols are followed in line with company policies and industry regulations, with focus on HR data confidentiality and compliance.
- Partner with HR leaders, IT, and People Analytics to understand business requirements, streamline data requests, and deliver insights.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in Data Engineering.
- 3+ years experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
- 3+ years experience with SQL and relational databases.
- 2+ years experience programming in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysis.
- 3+ years experience with cloud platforms, prefer GCP (may consider Azure or AWS).
- 2+ years experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- 2+ years experience with scheduling tools such as Airflow or Composer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
