Data Centre Liquid Cooling Engineer
Job Description
Lead and execute R&D and engineering/testing work focused on data centre liquid cooling within bp/Castrol’s thermal management business.
Responsibilities
- Implement research and development testing projects within the department
- Act as a domain specialist for data centre liquid cooling
- Design of Experiment (DoE) using statistical techniques
- Perform data analysis and produce technical reporting
- Provide engineering support for the design, installation and operation of test equipment
- Maintain regular project status update reports according to AET policies and practices
- Maintain effective networks and relationships with key internal collaborators
- Serve as a visible role model by maintaining high operational and HSSEQ standards
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant engineering or science field
- Over 3 years working as a professional engineer in engineering roles
- Demonstrated domain expertise in data centres liquid cooling
- Self-starter who can work with some supervision to execute R&D testing projects, including data analysis and reporting
Desirable criteria
- Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or science field
- Chartered membership of an industry-recognized engineering organization
- Over 2 years experience in a professional engineering testing environment
- Over 2 years experience working in an operational engineering / safety-critical environment
- Author of peer reviewed published technical papers
- Expertise in data analytics or specialist measurement techniques
- Proficiency in Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Knowledge and experience of immersion cooling of high voltage systems (>30V AC, 60V DC)
- Knowledge and experience of data centre technologies

Additional information
- Safety critical operational role: expected to be on site whenever required to facilitate testing and team activities
- Occasional working from home possible as operations and team activities allow
- Travel requirement: up to 25%

Compensation
- Base salary: $135,000 - $145,000 per year
