Job Description

Meridian Systematics seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data driven infrastructure, collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and storage.
  • Develop and operate ETL and ELT workflows to move and transform data across diverse systems.
  • Build and manage centralized data catalogs, warehouses, and data lakes, defining and maintaining schemas for organized data storage.
  • Establish data quality controls and governance policies to ensure data reliability and security.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business leaders to translate requirements into effective data solutions aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Develop automation scripts and leverage workflow orchestration to streamline recurring data tasks and workflows.
  • Monitor data system performance and optimize for speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one of Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with ETL frameworks and tools such as Talend, Informatica, or AWS Glue.
