Data Engineer

The Data Engineer role at Booz Allen Hamilton focuses on building data pipelines and scalable platforms to organize structured and unstructured data, enabling insights across mission-driven initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement data engineering solutions for mission-focused projects.
• Design, deploy, and maintain pipelines and platforms that structure disparate data into meaningful insights.
• Lead and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile environment.
• Oversee the assessment, design, construction, and upkeep of scalable client-facing platforms.
• Apply analytical exploration to support the lifecycle of scalable data platforms.

Requirements

• 5+ years designing and delivering software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
• 3+ years of experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
• 3+ years of experience building scalable ETL / ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
• Experience delivering solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
• Experience using version control tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket
• Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various data types into usable formats and to support scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms
• TS / SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 30 days of start date

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). This estimate reflects the typical salary range and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package. The posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
