Data Engineer
Job Description
Aristocrat in Austin, TX (onsite) is seeking a Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines, data models, and ensure data integrity across analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that pull data from casino source systems, apply transformations, and deliver analytics-ready datasets for downstream use.
- Produce production-grade code in Python and Node.js focused on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Create and sustain data models that accurately reflect business domains and support analytical use cases.
- Utilize ETL orchestration tools to schedule, monitor, and manage production workflows.
- Tune queries and data processing logic to scale with large volumes of transactional data.
- Guard data integrity via validation, testing, and observability practices across the pipeline.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to gather requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Document pipelines, data models, and key technical decisions to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.
Requirements
- Four or more years of professional data engineering experience or a closely related field.
- Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on data modeling experience for analytics or reporting.
- Proficiency in Python and Node.js for data processing and pipeline development.
- Experience with ETL orchestration platforms for building, scheduling, and managing production data workflows.
- Solid understanding of ETL and ELT patterns and the trade-offs involved in scaling data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Linux environments for deployment and operations tasks.
- Ability to work independently on well-defined problems and make sound technical decisions with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and reliability.
- Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical decisions and data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j is a plus but not required.

$91,000 - $169,000 per year
