Data Engineer

Charles Schwab Technology Services is hiring a Data Engineer in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX (onsite) to build and support enterprise data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data assets, data pipelines, reporting capabilities, and business intelligence solutions
• Support informed decision-making, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement through scalable and reliable data delivery
• Collaborate with business partners, architects, engineers, and distributed delivery teams to translate complex requirements into high-quality solutions
• Handle data integration, data modeling, analysis, performance tuning, and production support
• Ensure solutions align with architecture standards and established development practices
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and vendor partners
• Identify opportunities to simplify or reuse systems
• Deliver reliable outcomes using analytical thinking and sound judgment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 5+ years of professional experience developing, supporting, and maintaining ETL and database applications
• 2+ years hands-on experience with GCP technologies, including GCS, BigQuery, and Dataproc
• 2+ years hands-on experience with IDMC (Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud)
• 2+ years of experience with Control M
• Strong SQL knowledge plus shell scripting and a deep understanding of relational database concepts
• Comfortable with agile development techniques
• Familiarity with SCM and DevOps tool suites and CI/CD best practices (examples include Git such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket; and Bamboo)
• Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze and understand data

Salary

• USD 48 - 61 per hour
