Job Description
Intone Networks offers a remote Data Engineer/Analyst role focused on healthcare claims data. You will tackle data issues with SQL driven data management, uphold data quality and security, and design scalable architectures to support claims applications. The position emphasizes collaboration with technical product owners, analysts, and software engineers, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to ongoing process improvements. A flexible work schedule and opportunities to engage with clients and stakeholders are supported through this role.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and execute complex SQL queries for data management and data validation.
- Apply subject matter expertise to data mapping, transformations, validations and ingestion workflows.
- Monitor data workflows to ensure quality, consistency and reliability.
- Design and implement scalable and secure data architectures for new and existing applications.
- Provide production solutions and services configurations as needed.
- Act as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and recommend business process enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including technical product owners, analysts and software engineers.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedure documents.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning and architectural discussions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering.
- Participate in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders.
- Complete tasks as assigned and provide after hours or weekend support when required.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage deadlines under pressure.
- Adhere to industry and organizational compliance rules to maintain data integrity.
- Complete assignments using department ticketing and productivity systems within deadlines.
- Work toward organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting exercises.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- 8+ years of data analysis experience.
- Experience in Healthcare enrollment, medical claims and/or pharmacy claims is preferred.
- 8+ years hands-on experience with SQL and/or PL/SQL.
- Familiarity with designing, implementing and optimizing data models in NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, neo4j) for high volume, low latency workloads.
- Working knowledge of big data and cloud technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake) is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexible work schedule.
- Experience with project management tools like JIRA.
- Strong understanding of agile development practices, preferably SAFe.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent verbal, listening and written communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
