Job Description

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer in Product Analytics to design scalable data architectures and deliver analytics that inform product growth and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and own the data architecture across multiple large‑scale initiatives, weighing design choices and operation cost‑benefit tradeoffs within systems.
  • Develop and contribute to data logging frameworks to improve data collection efficacy, collaborating with data infrastructure teams to triage and resolve issues.
  • Partner with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to capture data needs and present core insights in a meaningful way.
  • Establish and manage service level agreements for data sets within assigned areas of ownership.
  • Define and enforce security models aligned with privacy requirements, ensure safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes in the assigned domains.
  • Design, build, and deploy advanced data models and visualizations that support diverse use cases across products and domains.
  • Tackle complex data integration problems using efficient ETL patterns, frameworks, and query techniques across structured and unstructured sources.
  • Contribute to production data processes and optimize code through advanced algorithmic approaches.
  • Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to streamline the development of data artifacts.
  • Influence product and cross‑functional teams to identify data opportunities that drive impact.
  • Mentor teammates with actionable feedback and collaborative knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience working with data in roles such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar.
  • At least 4 years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and proficiency in one programming language (examples: Python, C++, C#, Scala).
