Job Description

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer for Product Analytics to design scalable data architectures, build robust data models, and create insightful visualizations that inform product development and business decisions across Meta apps. This role works closely with software engineering, data science, and product management teams to translate data into actionable products and insights.

Compensation and Location

Location: Remote. Compensation: USD 177,000 to 247,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the data architecture design for multiple large scale projects, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs.
  • Develop and contribute to frameworks that improve data logging efficacy, collaborating with data infrastructure to triage and resolve issues.
  • Work with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and present key insights visually in meaningful ways.
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements for data sets within ownership scope.
  • Establish and enforce security models based on privacy requirements, safeguard data, address quality issues, and evolve governance processes.
  • Design, build, and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across products or domains.
  • Address complex data integration challenges using optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, and query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data.
  • Assist in owning production processes, optimizing code through advanced algorithmic approaches.
  • Improve pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to streamline development of data artifacts.
  • Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities that drive measurable impact.
  • Provide mentorship to team members through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in roles where data is a primary focus (data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar).
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (for example Python, C++, C#, Scala, or equivalent).
