Data Engineer, Teen & Family Experience (TFE)
Job Description
Meta is hiring a Data Engineer for the Teen & Family Experience (TFE) team within Meta’s Central Youth org. In this onsite role in San Francisco, CA, you’ll design and build large-scale data artifacts that power metrics, dashboards, and data models for teen experiences and parental-controls measurement. The work spans a concrete set of teen-facing features, with accountability for the data pipelines that make measurement reliable end to end.
What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll support a significantly expanded measurement surface across parental controls and teen experiences. This includes features such as productive pauses, the non-personalized feed option, nighttime mode, and school mode, along with a slate of parental-controls and teen-experience features that may be new or newly enhanced.
- Own metrics end to end: take responsibility for the full path from logging and staging data to aggregate datasets, the underlying pipeline work, and the dashboards that expose results.
- Work across different ownership splits: for some metrics, you may handle logging and staging while you build the metrics and dashboards; for others, you may handle logging and hand off the downstream steps.
- Coordinate delivery across teams: decide who takes which pieces based on availability, technical skills across teams, and domain knowledge.
Along the way, you’ll guide the construction of optimal data artifacts, refine systems and logging solutions, and build scalable data models. You’ll also help ensure data security and quality, and apply a strong focus on efficiency when recommending architecture and development approaches.
