Job Description

Senior Data Engineer position at Booz Allen Hamilton in Nellis AFB, NV, onsite, with a salary range of USD 77,600 to 176,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on delivering advanced technology solutions and carry out data engineering work on mission driven projects.
  • Design, deploy, and operate pipelines and platforms that transform diverse data into meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Lead and collaborate with a cross functional team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers within an agile, fast paced environment.
  • Apply analytical exploration and data assessment while overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of scalable platforms for client use.

Requirements

  • Experience building and supporting mission or enterprise systems, including data integration, secure compute environments, or operator facing applications in restricted or classified settings.
  • Experience creating secure analytics ecosystem applications, such as log pipelines, monitoring frameworks, operational dashboards, or intelligence fusion platforms in either greenfield or modernization efforts.
  • Ability to balance engineering tradeoffs under constrained mission conditions, including limited infrastructure, fragmented networks, evolving requirements, or tight timelines.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and support engineering teams through implementation.
  • Experience communicating architectural decisions and solution impacts to engineers, government clients, and senior nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Secret clearance.

Work Model

  • Remote: Remote work may be listed, but occasional in person work at Booz Allen or a customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Regular in person presence at Booz Allen facilities is anticipated, with possible visits to customer sites based on leadership expectations and role needs.
  • Onsite: Primary work location is a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration responsibilities in person as required.

NICE IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into production workflows or operator tooling, such as LLM enabled assistants, model augmented decision aids, or automation solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing data pipelines, ontologies, and application workflows on platforms like Palantir Foundry or Gotham, including air gapped or degraded connectivity environments.
  • Experience applying DevSecOps practices, including containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and automated testing within constrained toolchains.
  • Experience supporting multi cloud, multi enclave, or multiclassification architectures spanning environments such as NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, or coalition networks.
  • Experience contributing to defense programs or large systems integration efforts involving acquisition, compliance, or organizational complexity.
  • Experience developing agentic workflows, automation pipelines, or custom tooling to boost engineering throughput or reduce operator workload.
  • Experience serving in a technical leadership role responsible for system design and delivery.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Credentials in architecture frameworks such as AWS, Palantir Foundry, Gotham, or Kubernetes.
