Data Scientist - Engineering & Financial Support

Systems Planning and Analysis (SPA) is seeking a Data Scientist - Engineering & Financial Support in Alexandria, VA to support funding and financial planning for a defense manufacturing effort.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex data sets and develop analytic tools to support coordination, planning, management, and execution of funding and financial plans for a defense manufacturing effort
• Use technical and computer programming skills to design, implement, and maintain analytic tools across finance, procurement, engineering, and scheduling
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team that includes engineers, developers, managers, and stakeholders to inform recommendations for the manufacturing lifecycle and project management
• Provide recommendations related to manufacturing lifecycle and project management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or business field
• Strong internships or 2+ years experience analyzing complex data sets, developing analytic tools or software, and applying coding to solve problems in engineering or project management
• Experience using Python and PowerBI DAX
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate, communicate, and operate independently in a dynamic team environment
• Ability to simplify complex problems and produce actionable recommendations
• Current DoD security clearance at the minimum Secret level, with the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with DoN databases such as Navy ERP and Navy NEPS
• Experience with and knowledge of Navy requirements and program office organizations and processes
• Experience supporting defense manufacturing, Navy shipbuilding, research and development, defense acquisition programs, or other related initiatives

Pay Range

• USD $70,000 - $90,000 per year
• Virginia Pay Transparency Salary range: USD $70,000.00/Yr. - USD $90,000.00/Yr.
