Design Engineer
Job Description
Design and model precision mold components in a hybrid role in Rockford, IL at Pyramid Molding Group.
Responsibilities
- Create high-precision 3D CAD models of mold components for manufacturing
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to design molds aligned to customer specifications
- Deliver designs with speed, accuracy, and reliability in deadline-driven conditions
- Troubleshoot design issues and apply problem-solving strategies to improve performance
- Maintain strong attention to detail and support ongoing improvements to design processes
- Support mold build activities for applications involving thermoplastics, thermoset, die cast, and insert precision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering
- 2+ years of experience performing 3D modeling of mold components for manufacturing
- CAD proficiency with CREO and Cimatron required
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work accurately and reliably under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with engineering-relevant data analysis techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members
