Job Description

Design and model precision mold components in a hybrid role in Rockford, IL at Pyramid Molding Group.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-precision 3D CAD models of mold components for manufacturing
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to design molds aligned to customer specifications
  • Deliver designs with speed, accuracy, and reliability in deadline-driven conditions
  • Troubleshoot design issues and apply problem-solving strategies to improve performance
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and support ongoing improvements to design processes
  • Support mold build activities for applications involving thermoplastics, thermoset, die cast, and insert precision

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience performing 3D modeling of mold components for manufacturing
  • CAD proficiency with CREO and Cimatron required
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work accurately and reliably under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with engineering-relevant data analysis techniques is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members
