Job Description

Box is looking for a Developer Relations Engineer in New York, NY to build developer awareness and engagement for content-driven AI workflows. The focus is turning interest into measurable pipeline by owning developer-facing programs, technical content, and community activities that help AI builders move from curiosity to adoption.

In this onsite role, you will combine technical depth with clear communication, supporting developers through high-quality onboarding materials and hands-on assets like extensions and plugins. You will also translate what you learn in the AI developer ecosystem into weekly insights for Product and GTM.

Role responsibilities

  • Own the pipeline from ideation to publication for developer-focused outputs including technical blog posts, webinars, demo videos, and case studies, partnering with engineering to ensure technical depth while you own the final output.
  • Attend and deliver talks at developer and AI engineering conferences, owning the event strategy, building relationships with organizers, and partnering with GTM on lead capture and follow-up.
  • Build extensions and plugins for popular AI libraries and frameworks, and measure impact.
  • Engage consistently where AI engineers discuss real problems, then surface insights to Product and GTM weekly and convert community presence into inbound interest.
  • Identify friction and ship improvements; maintain accountability for documentation quality as a conversion lever.

Required qualifications

  • A strong motivation to serve developers and support their success.
  • Prior experience in an engineering or developer relations role.
  • Enjoyment for creating new apps or experiences enabled by cutting-edge technologies.
  • Ability to write technical content and to communicate as a public speaker.
  • Proficiency in either Python or JavaScript.
  • Active involvement in the AI developer ecosystem, such as open source contributions or AI application development; working knowledge of RAG and AI Agent development.
  • Experience supporting developer communities, open source projects, or user groups.
  • An established personal brand and network in the AI developer ecosystem.
