Job Description

The E&I Engineer position at ALTEN Technology USA focuses on electrical and instrumentation design for water treatment facilities, interpreting specifications, selecting instrumentation, and developing low-voltage control systems, while leading cross-functional project activities with emphasis on safety and quality.

Bellevue, WA onsite

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret engineering documents such as P&IDs, General Arrangements (GAs), process design guidelines, lessons learned, and engineering best practices guides.
  • Assess contract and customer specifications, providing informed feedback and adherence guidance.
  • Perform calculations and select appropriate instrumentation for water treatment facilities, preparing supporting documentation such as instrument lists, termination drawings, and instrument datasheets with a focus on operator and equipment safety.
  • Manage project budget, scope, and schedule, and proactively communicate risks and opportunities to project teams.
  • Design and specify equipment for complex low voltage industrial control systems in compliance with UL and CEC standards for water treatment facilities, including some Class 1 Div 2 environments; develop single line diagrams, load lists, I/O lists, panel designs and schematics, and network architectures with emphasis on safety and quality.
  • Support bid activities and provide technical guidance to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional project teams and client meetings.
  • Develop and uphold procedures and standards while extracting new concepts from established standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Veolia WTS equipment and processes or the ability to learn them.

Requirements

  • Experience designing complex low voltage industrial control systems in compliance with UL and CEC.
  • Experience designing control panels and selecting equipment for Class 1 Div 2 areas.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including coordination, reporting, documentation, and presentations.
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
  • Proven experience with complex industrial control system design.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant or related experience.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.

Working Conditions

Occasional travel up to 15 percent for client meetings, site visits, and interactions with other offices.

Compensation

Salary range is USD 90,000 to 140,000 per year. The final offer depends on factors including location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
