Electrical Design Engineer

ACT Power is hiring a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to design, develop, improve, and test custom electronic power supplies and products from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, improve, and test new or existing custom electronic power supplies and products from concept through production
• Interface with customers to understand requirements
• Prepare technical proposals in response to RFQs
• Develop concepts that can be proven out in the on-site, well-equipped engineering development lab

Requirements

• BSEE/BSEET required; MS is a plus
• Analog design skills, with preference for power supply design experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of analog circuits and electronic schematics, including rectifier circuits, regulators, oscillators, amplifiers, filters, and inductors
• Familiarity with non-isolated and isolated power electronic topologies, including Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, and Full-Bridge
• Working knowledge of test and measurement tools: oscilloscopes, electronic loads, AC and DC sources, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and LCR meters
• Circuit modeling experience with tools such as PSPICE, LTSpice, PLECs, and MATLAB/Simulink
• Experience with ECAD tools including Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, or Mentor Graphics
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Preferred experience: analog design (1 year)
• Preferred experience: electronic power supply design (1 year)
