Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex electrical systems and circuitry for a range of projects
  • Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and Microstation
  • Develop FPGA designs utilizing SystemVerilog and Simulink for high performance applications
  • Implement system design modifications based on testing results and root cause analysis
  • Conduct signal processing and firmware development using languages like C++, Python, Perl, and MATLAB
  • Debug hardware and firmware issues with tools such as ohmmeters and vision inspection systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into mechanical assemblies using SMT and soldering techniques
  • Manage project scheduling to ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones
  • Support manufacturing processes by developing specifications for programmable logic controllers and electrical systems compliance per NEC standards
  • Assist in system validation through testing and troubleshooting of prototypes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on electrical systems
  • Proven experience with FPGA development, PCB design, system design, and schematic creation
  • Hands-on experience with SMT, soldering, and firmware development
  • Familiarity with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks; experience with Revit is a plus
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, Perl; scripting experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is a plus but not mandatory
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, Arduino platforms, or similar embedded systems
  • Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis for hardware and software issues
  • Mechanical knowledge related to integrating electrical components into mechanical assemblies is advantageous
  • Ability to perform debugging using tools like ohmmeters and vision inspection systems; familiarity with SMT assembly techniques
