Engineer Electrical 1

Work onsite in Newport News, VA supporting facilities and engineering teams through electrical research, design, and troubleshooting across power and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
• Design electrical equipment, facilities components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic use
• Support facilities projects and assist engineering teams within plant engineering, project engineering, or crane engineering
• Design, evaluate, maintain, and troubleshoot power and industrial control systems
• Support execution of projects through planning and implementation activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 0 years of relevant exempt experience
• Newport News Shipbuilding requires the Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to solve problems in an organized manner
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel) and required AutoCAD skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and customers
• U.S. Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes
