Electrical Engineer

Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering is seeking a contract Electrical Engineer to join onsite in Asheville, NC for a 12- to 24-month engagement. The role centers on guiding electrical systems from concept through production, including wiring harnesses, schematics, and product validation within a manufacturing environment. This position pays USD 55 to 65 per hour and requires a solid footing in industrial product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and release electrical systems for new and existing products.
• Prepare and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Plan and support wire harness routing, component selection, and overall electrical architecture.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering to resolve production and field issues.
• Perform root cause analyses and diagnose electrical system failures.
• Create and execute validation plans to verify reliability and regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Assist with prototype builds, product launches, and engineering change orders.
• Contribute to design reviews and drive ongoing improvements in product performance.
• Maintain engineering documentation and ensure adherence to company design standards.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and field service teams as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years designing electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and support production.
• Strong understanding of product development processes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing electrical systems, wire harnesses, and electrical schematics, along with hands-on product validation in a manufacturing setting.
