- Create and maintain detailed schematics, BOMs, stack-ups, and supporting design documentation.
- Lead or participate in PCB layout reviews with a focus on signal integrity, manufacturability, thermal performance, and EMI/EMC best practices.
- Design and debug low-voltage DC circuits, power distribution networks, analog/digital interfaces, and embedded support circuitry.
- Develop circuitry supporting battery management systems (BMS) and TI fuel gauge ICs, as well as cell monitoring and balancing.
- Implement protection and safety circuitry for reliable operation and safety compliance.
- Develop circuitry for charging and power conversion systems.
- Support prototype assembly, SMT builds, bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct bench-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, and other lab instrumentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design, assembly, and production issues.
- Define and support production test requirements and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions for field or production failures.
- Participate in all phases of product development from concept through production release.
- Work with mechanical, manufacturing, test, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure successful product execution.
- Lead or participate in design reviews, technical reviews, and risk assessments.
- Support sustaining engineering for products currently in production.
- Contribute to design control and quality system documentation, including V&V, traceability, risk analysis, change control, and regulatory submissions and compliance.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO 13485, UL/IEC electrical safety, and UN transportation requirements where applicable.
- Participate in engineering change processes and documentation reviews to support controlled product development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical hardware or electronic product design.
- Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB/PCBA development.
- Proven expertise with SMT electronic assemblies and low-voltage DC circuit design.
- Extensive experience in prototype debugging and validation.
- Experience with battery-powered products or power electronics strongly preferred.
