Electrical Engineers
Job Description
Electrical engineers are sought to design, develop, test, and maintain complex electrical systems for a new LSAW plant at Welspun Tubular LLC's Little Rock facility. The role spans electrical, mechanical, automation, and hydraulic subsystems, with an emphasis on improving performance, reliability, and cross-disciplinary engineering across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical, mechanical, automation, and hydraulic systems using industry-standard CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Create detailed schematics and system designs incorporating components like PCB layouts, FPGA configurations, SoC integration, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues efficiently and implement corrective actions to enhance system reliability.
- Develop firmware and software solutions using languages including C++, Python, Perl, MATLAB, SystemVerilog, and scripting for automation tasks.
- Conduct system testing and validation through simulation (Simulink), signal processing techniques, vision inspection systems, and debugging hardware/software interfaces.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet NEC standards and surface mount technology (SMT) assembly requirements.
- Support project scheduling activities by planning milestones, allocating resources, and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
- Engage in system design reviews and provide technical guidance on electrical engineering principles including schematics creation and electrical systems integration.
- Utilize testing tools such as Ohmmeter and apply soldering techniques for hardware assembly or repair.
- Contribute to quantum engineering initiatives by applying advanced knowledge of electronics and system design where applicable.
Requirements
- Strong background in electrical systems design with experience creating schematics using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and ARM-based platforms (e.g., Arduino) and programming languages including C++, Python, Perl, MATLAB.
- Familiarity with signal processing techniques, vision inspection systems, SMT, soldering skills, and debugging hardware/software issues.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards including NEC codes and surface mount assembly processes.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex electrical failures using diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeter or oscilloscopes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on electrical engineering principles like system design and troubleshooting electrical circuits.
