Job Description

Leidos supports National Airspace System modernization through mission-focused engineering work with the FAA. This Electronics Engineer opportunity is onsite in Anchorage, AK and supports the NISC IV team working alongside the FAA Communications Engineering Center. Pay range: USD 87,100 - 157,450 per year. Original posting: August 12, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electronics engineering support to the FAA Anchorage Communications Engineering Center, including project engineering, management, and planning for Legacy Infrastructure Future Technologies (LIFT) program projects such as NEXCOM Radios, Air-to-Ground Protocol Converter, and Airport Cable Loop, plus other NAS modernization efforts.
  • Support electronics projects tied to LIFT and other NAS modernization initiatives across the FAA Western Service Area (WSA).
  • Produce engineering system design packages for installations involving communications equipment, radar automation equipment, control and monitoring equipment, and weather communication equipment.
  • Develop transition plans, testing plans, and training plans, and coordinate transition plan implementation with all impacted stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing Draft project scope agreements and project schedules.
  • Perform engineering reviews of business and feasibility components and deliver recommendations based on engineering perspective.
  • Prepare engineering risk assessments, and propose actions or improvements to mitigate risks driven by site, facility, and project or program changes.

Requirements

  • Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering degree with 4+ years of prior relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Systems engineering experience integrating electronics components and systems together.
  • 4+ years of work experience in electrical and/or electronic engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability. Eligibility requires being a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) who has lived in the U.S.A. for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks.
  • Ability to work onsite in Anchorage, AK.
