Job Description

Certerra South in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Engineer in Training to support the design and delivery of infrastructure and development projects. This onsite, entry‑level role is ideal for recent graduates preparing for the FE exam, offering hands-on experience under seasoned project engineers and senior staff.

Compensation ranges from USD 52,000 to USD 70,000 per year. The position is located onsite in Fort Worth, and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and analyzing civil projects, including site development, drainage, roadways, and utility systems
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
  • Support the development of construction documents using CAD software, notably AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and collect field data
  • Assist with project permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with local agencies
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic project analysis
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surveyors, planners, and environmental specialists
  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure data accuracy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; recent graduates preferred
  • Currently preparing for or scheduled to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, including structural, transportation, or water resources fundamentals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software is preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
