Equipment Engineer

The Equipment Engineer role supports a computer hardware manufacturing environment in Fort Worth, TX (onsite). The position focuses on sustaining the efficiency and effectiveness of SMT machines used in PCBA processes through maintenance, troubleshooting, installation support, and operator enablement.

Role Overview

In this position, you will maintain the operational performance of SMT machines and provide technical support to production and related functions. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting, installation and line setup, and documentation of procedures for newly acquired equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead regular or Class II machine maintenance activities.
• Perform equipment repair work and troubleshooting for technical issues.
• Attend weekly meetings with machine vendors and collaborate with internal teams to prepare reports for machine-related issues.
• Maintain machines in normal operating condition to support stable PCBA production.
• Support machine installation and line setup activities.
• Train newly arrived engineers and technicians on SMT and DIP machine operation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with other departments during production meetings to address daily machine performance and quality issues.
• Create procedures or work instructions for newly acquired machines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar engineering role with hands-on involvement in product design, testing, development, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to identify complex technical issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions.
• Proven experience managing projects end-to-end, including defining project scope, creating project plans, allocating resources, and tracking progress.

Location and Compensation

• Location: Fort Worth, TX (onsite)
• Salary: USD 65,000 to 70,000 per year
• Experience Level: 2+ years
