Job Description
Join Bain & Company’s Coro AI team in Los Angeles on site, where you will design and deploy AI powered tools and LLM driven features to advance Coro’s go-to-market data and analytics capabilities for B2B clients. From initial proofs of concept to production deployments, you will translate complex client needs into tangible technical solutions that drive real business outcomes. The role combines hands-on engineering with collaboration across Bain consultants and client teams, all within a culture that values practical impact and responsible AI.
Benefits
- 100% of individual employee premiums for medical, dental and vision programs
- Generous paid time off, including parental leave, sick leave and paid holidays
- Fully vested 401(k) company contribution
- Paid Life and Long-Term Disability insurance
- Annual fitness reimbursements
Responsibilities
- Build AI powered tools and products that drive real business outcomes
- Design and develop GenAI applications such as copilots, workflow automation, and decision support for commercial teams using modern LLM stacks
- Implement agentic workflows with reliable safety controls, clear failure modes, and human-in-the-loop considerations
- Design and build advanced search, retrieval, and knowledge pipelines across diverse data stores, including hybrid search, vector stores, knowledge graphs, and traditional data platforms
- Develop robust agent capabilities, including context engineering, memory management, orchestration, routing, and tool integration
- Integrate AI solutions into enterprise environments and workflows via APIs and data systems while balancing quality, latency, cost, privacy, and adoption
- Translate ambiguous client needs into clear technical requirements, tradeoffs, and delivery plans
- Deliver end-to-end ML solutions: data prep, feature engineering, model selection, training, validation, testing, and performance analysis
- Apply appropriate methods across classical ML and deep learning, including sequence, text, and image models when relevant
- Create reproducible training and evaluation pipelines with versioning, experiment tracking, and thorough documentation
- Maintain fluency with modern deep learning concepts, transformer fundamentals, and instruction tuning / preference optimization approaches
- Write clean, testable code and ship AI services through the full SDLC: build, test, deploy, monitor, and iterate
- Adopt MLOps and GenAIOps practices: CI/CD, reproducibility, environment parity, model and prompt versioning, and operational readiness
- Build evaluation and observability for GenAI and agentic systems, including tracing, instrumentation, regression tests, and prompt / policy iterations
- Design for secure enterprise deployment with access controls, auditability, and responsible AI guardrails
- Build reusable components and accelerators that scale across client contexts
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, lead sessions, and produce concise technical documentation
- Collaborate with Bain consultants to prioritize technical decisions that unlock business value
- Support proposal shaping and scoping, including effort sizing, architecture options, risk assessment, and delivery roadmaps
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3–5+ years of professional AI / ML engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals
- Strong Python expertise and experience building APIs / services (REST / gRPC) and integrating with enterprise systems
- Hands-on experience with LLM powered applications and considerations for latency, cost, reliability, and security
- Experience building advanced retrieval / search systems and working across data stores (vector, graph, relational, document, and search)
- Experience implementing agentic patterns with modern frameworks or custom loops, plus good judgment on when agentic approaches are appropriate
- Experience creating reusable skills and services for agent use with schema validation to enforce data contracts
- Strong engineering practices: testing, code review, version control, CI/CD, and performance profiling
- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure, including reliability and observability considerations
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or equivalent orchestration and production service operation
- Proven ability to implement security, privacy, and governance for AI systems, including PII handling and access controls
- Experience training, validating, and testing ML models with solid understanding of overfitting and evaluation methodology
- Practical feature engineering and data preprocessing experience for real-world datasets
- Familiarity with a broad set of ML algorithms and the ability to match methods to constraints
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and ML lifecycle tooling (experiment tracking, model registry, feature store concepts)
- Ability to operate in ambiguity, manage priorities, and work independently or with a team
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions to diverse audiences
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing comfort
- MBA or PhD in a technical field is a plus
- Background in consulting, professional services, or B2B analytics environments is desirable
