Facilities Automation Engineer (no visa sponsorship available)

Proactive Global is seeking a Facilities Automation Engineer to join its engineering team in Mount Sterling, Illinois. This hybrid role centers on steering automation initiatives across multiple sites, guiding capital assessments and implementations, coordinating with vendors, and delivering projects with disciplined project management and lean practices. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Oversees automation engineering activities across all locations in collaboration with operations leadership and safety requirements.
• Supports capital assessment and rollout with internal and external partners.
• Engages with vendors to select products, review engineering plans, and procure solutions.
• Collaborates with project management to ensure quality, timely delivery of initiatives.
• Applies lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste across all aspects of the role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and professional engineering certification (PE).
• Degree may be in architecture, mechanical, civil, structural, or electrical disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Role specifics

• Travel up to 60% overnight for meetings, trainings, and project responsibilities. Must be able to travel independently by car, plane, or train.
