Field Systems Engineer
Job Description
An on-site Field Systems Engineer role at SIC Enterprises LLC centers on delivering field service, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and network systems at client sites. The position includes fiber splicing and network installations, with travel and on-site support to help customers keep systems operating smoothly.
Overview
The Field Systems Engineer installs, maintains, and repairs a range of electrical and mechanical equipment, working independently to support customers. This role requires traveling to multiple sites to provide field service and technical support, delivering on-site assistance as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver field service and perform maintenance on diverse equipment and systems
- Support network installations and upgrades
- Install and configure network gear and cabling
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- Execute fiber splicing and termination tasks
- Provide technical support to customers
- Maintain precise documentation of work completed
- Maintain good physical condition and lift up to 50 lbs, kneel as required
- Travel to multiple locations to deliver field service and on-site support
- Provide on-site client support
Requirements
- Previous experience as a field technician or service technician
- Hands-on experience running cable to support security systems, WiFi, access control, and data networks
- Knowledge of using first-stop methods and installing cable support systems
- Proficiency in terminating 66 and 110 blocks
- Required tools: UTP 4-pair cable tester, tone generator, butt set, and a minimum 6-8 ft frame ladder
- Knowledge of computer networking, telephone systems, and cabling
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with low voltage systems and equipment
- Knowledge of POS and CCTV equipment is a plus
- Proficient with hand tools and specialized equipment
- Scissor lift and boom lift experience is a plus
- Not afraid of heights or confined spaces
- Valid license and reliable transportation
- Network installation experience: 1 year (Required)
