Act as the lead fire protection engineer and a technical authority for the engineering team, addressing questions and resolving complex issues.
Design fire protection systems and coordinate with other disciplines on projects, performing calculations and participating in design review meetings.
Develop detailed plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to follow.
Propose and manage budgets and timelines for engineering initiatives.
Review and verify the accuracy of work and methods used by staff.
Collaborate with department managers across all office locations to align on project objectives and standards.
Prepare and deliver engineering-related presentations for internal and external audiences.
Lead department activities including hiring, coaching, and training of staff.

7+ years of professional experience in fire protection engineering or design.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) license required.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Advanced knowledge of building codes, fire codes, NFPA standards, and FM Global Data Sheets.
Proficiency in standard engineering procedures with strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and thrive as part of a team.
Experience supervising a team.
Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, BIM, and MS Office.
