Job Description

Work onsite in Liberty, NC supporting battery cell production readiness across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Own battery cell production preparation activities, including schedule and deliverable management across project plan stages
Manage the process and equipment planning portion of the project lifecycle
Support specification and procurement activities tied to production needs
Coordinate installation activities and participate in trial support from start through validation
Coordinate across functions within a large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality
Provide reporting to senior leadership level as needed for deliverables and progress
Interpret and apply product and process specifications, drawings, and related data to support execution
Support new material introduction, validation activities, and confirmation
Perform change point management and confirmation to ensure process readiness and alignment

Requirements

3+ years of equivalent engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in winding, cell assembly, and electrolyte fill for automotive cells (2+ years required; 5+ years preferred)
Experience with battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity
Experience with Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation
Experience coordinating with production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality (or similar functions) within a large organization
Ability to interpret and apply product/process specifications, drawings, and data, including new material introduction, validation, and change point management
Ability to support weekend and shutdown work
Ability to work overtime up to 25%
Ability to travel domestic and international up to 15%

Job Description

Work4ce Inc is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of complex civil and manufacturing projects for an automotive client, with a focus on battery production lines, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration. This onsite role in Liberty, NC involves close collaboration with engineers, the construction management group, technicians, vendors, and general contractors to drive milestones from concept through launch. The position offers an hourly salary range of $55 to $84.

Responsibilities

Collaborate within a team environment to support other engineers, the Construction Management Group, technicians, vendors, and general contractors to meet project milestones.
Manage equipment procurement and plan installation through execution, commissioning, pre-production trials, and the launch of battery production lines.
Participate in advanced cleanliness protocols (clean room) required for the assigned battery manufacturing area.
Support battery manufacturing trials to verify equipment safety, quality, operability, and overall efficiency.
Identify punchlist items, conduct root cause analyses, and manage countermeasures.
Summarize KPIs, support mass-production handover, and assist with production issue resolution.
Engage with cross-functional teams (domestic and international) to address open items and align on schedules and milestones.
Create and maintain detailed schedules for assigned areas and manage budgets accordingly.
Complete required internal and external training.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience in production preparation and execution of capital projects, preferably from initial strategy planning to the start of mass production.
Project management experience handling capital investments greater than $0.5M.
Experience creating and maintaining detailed schedules for manufacturing equipment installation.
Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings including building facilities and process equipment drawings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Proficiency with 2D and 3D drafting software such as AutoCAD.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods (e.g., July and December) as project needs require.

Job Description

Requirements

Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equipment installation and debugging experience.
Experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems in industrial manufacturing settings.
PLC programming experience, including reading, writing, and modifying logic.
Experience with servo motion controllers.
Experience with relay logic including wiring and troubleshooting.
Robotics experience including programming and troubleshooting.
Hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting experience and schematic reading ability.
Availability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and shutdowns.
Domestic and international travel availability up to 30%.
